The Valentine Library provides a cozy atmosphere where our students will want to come and visit to enjoy their favorite book characters, meet new ones, and enrich their classroom curriculum. The Library provides a collection of approximately 14,000 volumes of books, periodicals, and digital resources encompassing a wide range of quality children’s literature. Each class visits the library for a 30 minute scheduled lesson every other week. Library lessons may include a curriculum-based read aloud story, literacy and library skill development, as well as browsing and check out time. Valentine students participate annually in the selection of the California Young Reader Medal. A part-time library specialists staff the Library.
